Sleeping Dogs

Sleeping dogs is a game that was release earlier in the late summer of 2012 and I meant to do a post about it but unfortunately I got side tracked with other games that had yet to release, so here's my take on it. Sleeping Dogs I a Grand Theft Auto type game that is set in china. You play Wei Shen an under cover cop who was raised in Hong Kong. The objective of the game is to infiltrate the notorious Triads and take them down. However the game gives you options on whether you want to stay on a path that will keep you mostly under cover or whether or not you want to do jobs for the Triads and become more integrated into the gang. This being said the game bring a whole new outlook to the meaning of the phrase "In too deep". If you pick the path to stay as a cop you keep a more professional outlook on things. However if you decide to become close with the triad you gain both friends and enemies which add a sense of depth to the game and it allows you to connect with the character. The game has an amazing story line with a lot of tough choices to be made. The game plays a but like GTA in the sense that it's a third person sandbox game where you can do pretty much whatever you want and go anywhere without ever touching the story. Unlike GTA the controls are very tight with an amazing hand to hand combat system and an array of weapons from crowbars to assault rifles. In all honesty this game is absolutely amazing and deserves at least one play through.

Halo 4 Crimson DLC

Halo 4 now has new downloadable content available for the online multiplayer. 343 studios has released the Crimson map pack for multiplayer. This multiplayer add on is giving players the ability to use three new maps, wreckage, harvest and shattered. These new maps will be available on the war games, forge and custom games menus under the infinity menu. As always the new maps add new achievements to the game for players to obtain such as, Now They Fly?, Size Is Everything, ODST, Bigfoot, David and Goliath, Clay Pigeon, Special Delivery and Pump Yer Brakes. These maps are available on the Xbox Live marketplace for the usual price of 1,200 Microsoft points. However you don't have to pay the 1,200 Microsoft points if you have the season pass which is also available on the market place for 2,500 Microsoft points. The season pass cost more but if you buy it you don't have to buy the individual map packs as they come out because the pass covers all new maps that are going to be released for the game. In my personal opinion I think the pass is worth it because with the past few games there have been 3-4 add on's which will cost about 3,600-4,800 if you buy them one by one so the 2,500 pass is well worth the deal.

Far Cry 3

Far Cry is the story of Jason Brody and his 4 friends who go to Bangkok to celebrate his younger brother Riley getting his pilots license. However the celebration is cut short when they decide To go skydiving on a small island off of Bangkok. Their vacation quickly changes from fun on the beach to a fight for their lives after they are captured by pirates who intend to ransom them then sell them off on the black market. At the beginning of the game you meet Vaas who is the one who captured you and your friends. You quickly com to find that Vaas is absolutely insane. Once he leaves you and your brother Grant attempt to escape the prison camp, but you fail as Vaas finds you and kills your brother. However he lets you go as a sick joke and you have to flee the camp while under heavy gun fire. Once you've completed that mission the title screen will appear and then you start the real game. From that point on your objective is to save your friends and brother and get home. To do this you enlist the help of the local tribe warriors called the Rakyat who want to take back their home from the pirates who now run the island. You later meet a woman named Citra who helps you to become stronger and hone your skills as a warrior so that you can defeat Vaas and eventually take down his boss Hoyt who is the mastermind behind all if this and free your friends.
